About - NFL vs. Twitter

Growing up I have always had a passion for sports. I was big into playing football so I have always looked up to the people in the NFL specifically. I am a part of a generation who grew up around the digital age. I became a Twitter user my freshman year of high school. A few years ago we did not see these professional players using a variety of social media platforms.

We see a lot of NFL superstars being heavy users on social media in today's era. Whether it is Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, you name it. This is an intersection of a type of writing and digital media cross.

My role models include:

JJ Watt - JJ Watt is defensive player for the Houston Texans. He spends a lot of time on Twitter supporting his brothers playing for different teams. He also was a generous donator for the victims in Hurricane Harvey that recently occurred. He is a positive role model when it comes to the Twitter world.

Pat McAfee - Pat was a former punter for the Indianapolis Colts. He now takes the role of a commentator for various types of sports. He claims to be an average person who lived a professional athlete lifestyle. Pat has presence on various social media platforms including: Twitter, YouTube, Spotify (Podcast), and Instagram.

Le'Veon Bell - Le'Veon was a running back who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I do not think as Le'Veon as a positive influence in the social media world. He is active on Twitter and Instagram. Le'Veon refused to sign his eligibility contract for the Steelers this past season, demanding to be paid more. He took a lot of hatred from his Twitter fans and followers.
